Thomas Kavanagh is an undergraduate in General Engineering at Durham University in the UK, currently researching at UBCO over the summer. His focus is on concrete nodes for timber high-rise buildings, though he also has interests in increasing the role of women in engineering and the construction of civilizational refuges. Besides a design report on a mine detection rover, this is his first foray into academic research and hopes to learn relevant skills during his time here.
