Dr. Lisa Tobber is an Assistant Professor in the School of Engineering at the University of British Columbia Okanagan and Director of the Advanced Structural Simulation and Experimental Testing (ASSET) Group. She is currently a Peter Wall Fellow and previously held the Principal’s Research Chair in Disaster-Resilient Buildings and the Women in Engineering Chair.
Her research focuses on seismic performance, prefabricated buildings, structural testing, and advanced numerical modelling. Her work helps develop safer, more resilient building systems and supports future code provisions.
Dr. Tobber works closely with industry, government, and academic partners to advance resilient, constructible, and affordable buildings.
